Earth Week

Celebrate Earth Week, April 21-24, at Triton College by participating in engaging activities and learning opportunities designed to inspire and encourage environmental stewardship:

Sustainability Walking Tour, April 21 at 12 p.m. – Explore Triton’s sustainable campus features on a 30-minute walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy an informative and refreshing walk! Meet on the campus mounds at noon.

Community Litter Clean Up, April 22 at 1 p.m. – Help keep our campus property beautiful by joining the Community Trash Cleanup. Volunteers will pick up trash at Fullerton Woods, just north of the Botanical Gardens fence (meet at the Botanical Gardens). The event is open to the campus community and neighbors. Native Plant Speaker, April 23 at 12 p.m. – Local River Forest homeowner, David Hoyt, will share his experience transforming his yard into a native plant garden and discuss its benefits for the local environment and ecosystem. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain and share valuable resources. Meet in Triton Library’s Upper Commons (A Building, Third Floor).

One Earth Film Festival, April 24 – In collaboration with One Earth Film Festival, we will be screening the film Slay, a thought-provoking documentary on animal cruelty and fast fashion. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., film at 6 p.m., in the R Building Performing Arts Center. Tickets are free but an $8 donation to One Earth Film Festival is suggested.
